The Larrakeyah Interim Health Facility was designed by Bennett Architecture as a rapid, modular healthcare solution to address an immediate infrastructure shortfall while a permanent facility was being developed. Using relocatable modular construction, the facility delivers essential health services efficiently and cost-effectively, with a strong focus on adaptability, operational functionality, patient comfort, and long-term reusability.

Project Story
Bennett Architecture’s Larrakeyah Interim Health Facility was conceived as a pragmatic, modular response to an immediate shortfall in healthcare infrastructure, providing essential services while a permanent facility was planned for delivery. Recognising the need for speed, flexibility, and functionality, the design utilises relocatable modular construction, allowing the facility to be deployed rapidly on site with minimal disruption to existing operations.
The building accommodates critical health services, including consultation rooms, treatment areas, and administrative support, configured efficiently within a compact footprint. The modular approach allows each unit to be pre-fabricated, enabling accelerated delivery and installation while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards. Durability, ease of maintenance, and environmental considerations were key drivers, with materials selected to withstand tropical conditions and reduce ongoing operational demands.
Bennett Architecture emphasised adaptability in the design, ensuring that the facility could be repurposed or relocated once the permanent health infrastructure was completed. Internal layouts and service systems were arranged to support reconfiguration without extensive refurbishment, maximising the long-term utility of the investment.
